New Hope has long attracted artists, performers, designers and independent thinkers. The Bucks County Playhouse anchors a lively riverfront district of galleries, restaurants, shops and historic buildings, giving the borough an energy uncommon for a town of its scale.
Solebury opens outward from that center into preserved hills, forests and farmland. Phillips’ Mill carries the region’s artistic tradition; Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve protects native plants and woodland; and the Delaware Canal ties together the landscape.
The housing is exceptionally diverse. In New Hope, historic brick and frame houses, compact townhomes, condominiums and architecturally adventurous residences place owners close to the borough’s energy. Solebury opens into brown and gray fieldstone farmhouses, converted barns, country estates, modern glass-and-timber homes and private compounds.
